The program is open to students from Sri Lanka who have successfully completed their O/L or A/L examinations.

In addition, the students who have completed the Foundation level program at IIT (Informatics Institute of Technology) and having two A passes for Math and English in O/Ls may also apply.

99x Academy currently partners with Informatics Institute of Technology (IIT), Sri Lanka to provide scholarships. The Informatics Institute of Technology (IIT) is a reputed private Sri Lankan higher-education institute, established in 1990, that offers specialized IT and Business degrees in collaboration with British universities (see website).

The Bachelor’s degree programmes in Software Engineering / IT / Computing offered by IIT under IIT’s Info-School programme are applicable for the scholarship programme.

Currently the 99x Academy programme only partners with Informatics Institute of Technology (IIT), Sri Lanka to provide scholarships. Therefore, we are unable to sponsor other degree programmes.

Part-time degree program takes up to 5 years to complete.

Yes, in addition to fully sponsoring the degree programme, the students will also be paid an internship allowance to help during the the academic period.

Students will start with an internship allowance of LKR 20,000 per month as they start their scholarship.

Upon completion of 1 year and meeting required performance expectations, students may secure a position equivalent to an Associate engineer in projects. If the student secures such position, the monthly internship allowance is upgraded to LKR 100,000.

Further, there will be annual increments to the allowance, based on performance.

To be eligible, students must be under 20 years old at the time of application.

The selection process for this program is scheduled to take place early February 2026. Applicants will be notified of their application status by the end of April 2026.

Students are expected to commence their academic program in September 2026.

All academic schedules are at full discretion of the education partner Informatics Institute of Technology, Sri Lanka (IIT). 99x Academy would not be responsible of any deviations to the academic schedule.

Students are required to apply to the university program, meet the specified entry criteria, and be selected based on the requirements set forth by the partner education institution.

Yes, the students are required to maintain required performance expectations of 99x to continue on the programme.

Transparent performance feedback is provided to the students periodically and failure to rectify any performance gaps would cause termination of the scholarship from 99x.

Students are also required to follow the degree programme with satisfactory academic performance.

Yes, students are required to physically attend regular work hours at 99x offices (in Colombo 03, Sri Lanka) on weekdays.

Exceptions are made to attend education academic activities as per schedule provided by the academic institute.

Yes, students are expected to meet attendance requirements set by the education institute where various academic activities may occur physically or remotely via online platforms.

Yes, a legally binding tri-party agreement will be signed between guardian (on behalf of the student), 99x and the education partner.
