We are thrilled to introduce the NextGen Tech Scholars Program - a scholarship program exclusively designed for the children of Sri Lanka's IT professionals. This initiative not only stands as a testament to our commitment to nurturing young talent but also as a bridge connecting generations through a shared passion for IT excellence.
Through this program, we aim to provide support to students for their higher education, offering paid internships. We envision creating a community where knowledge, skills, and opportunities are passed down, fostering a legacy of innovation and expertise.
By investing in the education of Sri Lanka's IT community's children, we are essentially investing in a brighter, more technologically advanced future for the country. Together, let's forge a pathway to success for the next wave of industry leaders.
“NextGen” is an extension to our scholarship program which is open to all students of Sri Lanka.
See details of the general program here.
We understand that there will not be internship opportunities available for everyone who applies to the NextGen Tech Scholars Program. That is why we plan to introduce a Mentoring Program—a venture that extends a nurturing hand to those who do not make it into the internship program but show promise and enthusiasm for the industry.
Spanning 12 months, this program is designed to give students a vivid peek into the dynamic IT industry. Our professionals at 99x will take on the role of mentors, guiding these promising minds through a series of sessions that aim to broaden their industry perspective and hone their skills.
During this period, students will have the opportunity to:
Attend Interactive Sessions: Participate in a series of interactive sessions that offer insights into the ever-evolving landscape of IT. These sessions will cover various facets of the industry, from the latest technological advancements to the dynamics of project management.
Network with Industry Professionals: The program allows students to build a robust network by interacting with industry stalwarts, gaining firsthand insights, and understanding the nuances of working in the IT sector.
Volunteering Opportunities: To provide a hands-on experience and a deeper insight into the real-world IT environment, we offer students the chance to volunteer in various projects and departments at 99x. This volunteering stint is not just an opportunity to apply the theoretical knowledge garnered during the mentorship sessions but also a chance to collaborate with our seasoned professionals on actual projects. Students will be exposed to the intricacies of project management, team collaboration, and innovation that drive the industry, thus fostering a sense of responsibility and a glimpse into the potential future roles they might hold in the IT sector.
By the end of this mentorship program, students will not only have enriched their knowledge base but also fostered connections that could open doors to promising opportunities in the future. This program stands as a testament to 99x's commitment to cultivating a new generation of IT professionals who are ready to spearhead innovation and excellence in the industry.
At 99x Academy, we are committed to shaping the future of Sri Lanka’s tech talent by investing in the brightest minds. We aim to create a community where knowledge, skills, and opportunities are shared, fostering a legacy of innovation and expertise.
